I couldn't wait to fold this model since I also created an origami candy cane model back in 2000. I snagged the super easy, super simple folding folding method and I was fascintated to see his folding method and logic behind this one. Montroll's model is a little more complicated. Our models look similar but they are fold quite differently. I think it is so interesting to see how different creators create the same object. The origami candy cane and shamrock are about the only models that I created that I can compare with someone else's version.

This origami model is really quite easy to fold even though it looks complicated. I used metallic green foil origami paper. Foil paper is nice to work with as it creases well and folds down very thin.
