I received a really good response to the Shamrock diagrams. I've added photos for more of my origami models. They are cuter in real life than my hand drawings.

I've folded some of my older origami models and just need to figure out how to photograph them. My old photography set up is obviously long gone. I'm planning on adding new categories for Origami Creators and Traditional Models. Follow Sarahgami at Twitter.com.

I have to send a big thanks to my hubby who diagrammed the shamrock for me. What a guy. We both had a good chuckle looking at the origami diagrams I did by hand. They're a little primitive. I actually colored them with crayons. We'll be working on updating those origami models too. It was my husband's first attempt at diagramming an origami model so hopefully it will go faster next time. I'm going to go back and revisit some of my old models. I have to admit that after 11 years I don't remember how to fold them. The Santa head model has me a bit confused.

It never fails. You go on vacation and the server goes down...

I finished drawing out the origami shamrock diagrams by hand. I'm going to turn them over to my husband to render them in Illustrator.

It is a little embarrassing updating my origami site after 9 years. My site is soooo old school looking now! LOL. Everybody has 'blogs' these days. The site was avant garde back in the day - everyone else was using those horrid repeating wallpaper backgrounds from the late 1990's - if you remember back that far. Unfortunately I don't have time to redesign the entire site.

I haven't updated recently due to a wicked case of the flu. Avoid sick people at all costs this winter - you REALLY do not want to get the this strain of flu. I've added links to Francis Ow's Website. He has diagrams for folding hearts, modulars, and geometrical models.

I've added links to Sebastion Kirch's Website. It is a photo gallery of models he has folded including several oversized Edwin Corrie origami models. As I have said before, Corrie is one of my favorite origami creators. I just received his Origami Animals on interlibrary loan. Go take a look!

I'v added links to Paul Jackson's site where you can find the diagrams for his awesome two color fox. It surpasses any fox model I've seen so far. I also linked to Singapore Origami Web that has lots of information and links.

Did anyone else have an awful Friday the 13th? Wow, it was bad here. Went to see Great Big Sea perform at the Michigan Theater. Excellent. Added the Swiss and American flag to the site today.

It was a busy weekend. I came up with several models including a Santa head, chick in an egg (1 piece with color change), a 2 piece Easter chick in egg, and a two color elf/jester head. I also came up with a Bicentennial Eagle driving to work - I was the passenger!

I added a new section, Special, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Fred wants his computer back now :)

I created my second model, pumpkin head, while waiting at the doctor's office. I need to go there more often. Plenty of time just sitting around with nothing to do but read 3 year old magazines. I drew the witch's hat (once I was home) and added that to the site too.

I created a witch head with hat - green face and black hat. I'll to get ahold of the camera agian to photograph it and post it to the site. I am still working on diagrams and the site overall. The diagrams page won't appear in Netscape :( More work for me...

I have been enjoying my library books and I am waiting for many more. It is a great perk for my job!

I have been writing html code and editing and proofreading all week. I am ready to rest. But I must go live. I just need to scan the diagrams and it will be ready to be seen by the masses.

Fred has been helping me with the webpage updates and it is really coming along. I received "Origami Doukuhun" by Akira Yoshizawa from the library today! Of course I was very excited to see a tree model and another of his masterful butterflies. I am still waiting for "Best of Origami" by Samuel Randlett.

It has really been a great month for origami. I set my mind to creating a model and DID! All in the matter of two weeks. I have only successfully created one model prior to this - - and there have been MANY cat-toy-attempts. Everyone keep trying!

I had an intriguing origami experience today. I am anxiously awaiting several books that I have requested for interlibrary loan and being impatient I decided to search our own Asia Library Collection. There weren't many citations but what the heck. I asked my coworker Hong to accomany me so she could translate titles. It turned out the books were in on-site storage.
(FYI -- When researching a citation, if the call number starts with TT that means the book is in storage.) Retrieving the books involved getting the key for the attic of this 150 year old library building. The University Libraries have long been modernized but this room was a throw back to olden days. It was just rough hewn floor boards and shelves. I checked out a book called KYO ORIGAMI. I am also waiting for a book from the remote storage facility. Most of the other books were Chinese papercutting.
